Simple Express Asian Greens

Prep time: 15 minutes 

Cook time: 20 minutes 

Serves: 4 (as a side)

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon oil (eg. Olive, peanut or vegetable)

  • Simply Wholesome Pantry Asian Stir-fry Recipe Base

  • 1 tablespoon honey 

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce 

  • 1 tablespoons chopped ginger

  • 1 bunch choy sum, washed and roughly chopped into large pieces

  • 1 bunch gai lan OR 3 bunches bok choy, washed and roughly chopped into large pieces

  • Good handful snow peas, washed and trimmed 

  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

  • Fresh sliced chilli for garnish (optional) 

Method:

  1. Separate leaves from choy sum, gai lan stems or bok choy. Give them a good wash, the insides can collect dirt. Roughly chop the greens into large pieces. 

  2. For the sauce: combine the Simply Wholesome Pantry Asian Stir-fry Recipe Base, honey and soy sauce. Set aside. 

  3. Heat a wok or large stainless steel frying pan over high heat. Add oil. Swirl to coat. Add all the Asian green stems at once. Stir-fry for 2 minutes or until bright green and JUST tender. Then add the Asian green leaves, snow peas, ginger and sauce. Stir-fry for 1 to 2 minutes or until leaves have just wilted. Serve sprinkled sesame seeds and fresh chilli.
